About Grounded Motion

At Grounded Motion, we help foster connection to the body, to nature, and to others, supporting both physical and emotional wellbeing. Every session is designed to nurture the body, the mind and the nervous system, helping children move, feel, and grow with balance from the inside out.

Our movement sessions are led by an Exercise Physiologist and take place in natural settings across the Northern Rivers, New South Wales. Children are gently supported to look both inward and outward, tuning into the rhythms of nature and the patterns within their own bodies.

We blend evidence-based movement practices with sensory-rich nature play and regulation tools, supporting children to build strength, confidence, and calm. We work with neurodivergent and neurotypical children in a safe environment that meets each child where they are at.

Meet Katie.

Katie is a nature lover, paediatric Exercise Physiologist, and bush school educator with several years of experience supporting both neurodivergent and neurotypical children through movement, regulation, and sensory play. Her approach is grounded in neuroscience and physiology, using purposeful movement to activate the body and brain in ways that support emotional regulation, cognitive development, and long-term wellbeing.

She has experience across neuro rehabilitation and disability settings, always bringing a person-centred approach that is fun, playful and calming, all while fostering genuine connection.

Katie believes nature should be accessible to every child, regardless of background or ability. Outside of work, Katie is passionate about balancing mental stimulation with nervous system regulation, and finds this through walking in nature, surfing, gardening, meditation, and yoga, practices that help her stay grounded, calm, and connected.
